FAQs

MakerBoost offers two license types:

G-code version: For GRBL-based controllers.

DSP version: For Ruida, Thunder customized boards, TopWisdom, and also GRBL controllers (more versatile).

Check your machine's controller type (e.g. Ruida = DSP). One license works on both Windows and macOS, but only on one computer at a time. You can transfer it by disabling on the old computer.

Go to Settings → License → Activate License and enter your key. The license is valid for 1 year from activation date.

If renewing before expiry: new period extends from current end date.
If expired: new period starts from renewal date.

No internet? Use Activate License Offline and follow the steps. To move to a new computer, click Disable License first.
Yes. It's designed for broad compatibility:

OneLaser (including Vertigo )

Thunder Laser, APLaser, TopWisdom, GOIOK, Jusen Laser, and many others

Supports most DSP controllers (Ruida, TopWisdom, etc.) and GRBL-based boards

Two main ways:

USB connection (most common): Plug the USB cable, select the device in the software's connection panel, and click Connect.

TCP/IP (network): Enter your machine's IP address (check machine panel or manual), then connect.

After connection, use the Move panel to test jog movements. If no connection, check cable, drivers, firewall, or machine power.
Rotary axis: Yes — enable in the Rotary panel, set Cycle Pulse (steps per rotation) and Diameter (workpiece or roller). Works for cylindrical items like cups (great for Vertigo).

Camera: Not supported on Vertigo models (manual states Vertigo cannot use camera). Other compatible machines may support it if the hardware is present — check Vendor Settings.
